WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR MARCH 3, 2025 TO MARCH 9, 2025
During the week of March 3, 2025, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 706 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 4.5 that occurred on March 6 at 13:42:40 AKDT (March 6, 22:42:40 UTC), 16 miles S of Iliamna Volcano. This event was reported as felt in Anchorage and surrounding areas.
Another notable event was a magnitude 3.5 earthquake that occurred on March 4, 2025 21:14:39 AKST, 11 miles NW of Elmendorf AFB. This event was also reported as felt widely in Elmendorf AFB and Anchorage.
There were 6 ice quakes detected in the Prince William Sound, and 6 quarry blasts were recorded.
