The National Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning at 12:37 PM AK time on July 16 for coastal areas between Kennedy Entrance (40 miles southwest of Homer) and Unimak Pass (80 miles NE of Unalaska). This was downgraded to a tsunami advisory about an hour later,1:44 PM AK time. The Warning Center cancelled the advisory at 2:44 PM AK time. The only measurable tsunami was at Sand Point, with a maximum wave height of about 2.5 inches (6 cm).
