Austin oversees the operations of the Alaska Earthquake Center. He has experience in seismic network operations, fieldwork, and earthquake science. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in Geosciences. 

When not working, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family and dogs.
